Competition rules apply for all MCSFA secondary competitions.

Additional Competition Rules

  • Silent sidelines are mandatory and expected to be observed and enforced by all schools entering our competitions. Schools are responsible for ensuring pitches are suitably roped off and that coaches and spectators are silent throughout the game.
  • Schools must enter the date that the game is to be played into the fixture spreadsheet once agreed.
  • No extensions are to be granted for these competitions. Schools who are unable to agree a date to play the fixture must be prepared to play on the round deadline date. Schools who fail to submit the result before 6pm on the deadline date may then be subject to the coin-toss to progress the competition.
  • A maximum of 3 players who a registered with any FA licensed Academy / Centre of Excellence can be on the pitch at one time.
  • A pupil on a manged move referral is not eligible to participate without the prior permission of Merseyside County Schools FA.
  • A pupil shall not play for more than one school during the season without the express permission of Merseyside County Schools FA.
  • All Merseyside competitions are mixed-gender unless otherwise stated. Girls u13 and u15 are girls only competitions.
  • For Everton Senior Shield U19 – only students receiving a full time education (15+ hours per week) at the provider and of equivalent 6th form school age are eligible to play.
